Venus Comb Murex
Murex pecten

Adults inhabit warm coastal seabeds, especially sandy areas and reefs with abundant hiding places. They are deliberate predators that seek out other molluscs and use a radula and chemical secretions to feed through shells. The spectacular shell carries exceptionally long, delicate spines, which discourage predators and reduce sinking into soft sand.
