Assassin Snail
Anentome helena

The assassin snail inhabits freshwater streams, ponds, and marshy channels, usually moving over sand or hiding beneath it. It hunts other snails by extending a long proboscis into their shells, while also scavenging animal remains when prey is scarce. Its boldly banded shell provides protection, and females lay single eggs in distinctive square capsules.
