Malayan Porcupine
Hystrix brachyura

The Malayan porcupine inhabits forests, plantations, scrubland, and rocky areas throughout parts of Southeast Asia. Mostly active at night, it forages for roots, tubers, fruit, bark, and other plant foods. When threatened, it raises and rattles its sharp quills, then may back into an attacker with its spiny tail.
