Giant Barb
Catlocarpio siamensis
Adult giant barbs inhabit the deep channels and seasonally flooded reaches of the Mekong basin. They feed mainly on algae, aquatic plants, fruits, and other vegetable matter, using their broad mouths to graze and sift food. Among the world's largest carp, this critically endangered fish can grow to extraordinary size.
