Palawan Peacock-Pheasant
Polyplectron napoleonis

The Palawan peacock-pheasant inhabits dense lowland forests on Palawan Island in the Philippines. It spends much of its time foraging quietly on the ground for insects, seeds, berries, and other small food items. Males perform elaborate courtship displays, spreading their ocellated tail feathers and wings to reveal shimmering blue-green eyespots. Though able to fly, it usually uses brief flights to escape danger or reach a roost.
