Spined Soldier Bug Nymph
Podisus maculiventris (nymph)
Spined soldier bug nymphs live on crop plants, meadows, and garden vegetation where insect prey is plentiful. They stalk soft-bodied insects and insect eggs, piercing prey with a needlelike beak to feed. Unlike adults, nymphs lack fully developed wings and pass through five growing instars before molting into the adult form.
