Common Ground Dove
Columbina passerina

Common Ground Doves inhabit open scrub, grassland, farm edges, and sandy clearings across warm regions of the Americas. They spend much of the day walking on the ground while picking up grass seeds, grains, and small invertebrates, then burst into flight when threatened. This small dove is recognized by its soft, repeated cooing call and its long, pointed tail.
