Emerald Jumping Spider
Paraphidippus aurantius

The adult emerald jumping spider occupies vegetation, tree trunks, and forest edges, where it hunts by sight during the day. It stalks flies, small insects, and other arthropods before making a sudden, accurate leap. Instead of relying on a capture web, it uses silk mainly for shelters, egg sacs, and safety lines. Its iridescent green coloration is especially striking in mature individuals.
