Meadow Grasshopper Nymph
Chorthippus parallelus (nymph)

Meadow grasshopper nymphs live low among grasses in meadows, pastures, and damp field edges. They feed on tender grass blades and other soft plant material, using quick hops to escape spiders, beetles, and birds. Unlike adults, they lack fully developed wings and rely on camouflage and springing legs rather than flight. They grow through several molts, gradually forming larger wing pads with each stage.
