Lowland Paca
Cuniculus paca

Lowland pacas inhabit humid lowland forests, especially near rivers, swamps, and dense vegetation. Mostly active at night, they feed on fallen fruit, seeds, leaves, and tubers, often carrying food back toward cover. They shelter in elaborate burrows with several entrances and readily take to water when escaping danger.
