Ramose Murex
Chicoreus ramosus

Adult ramose murexes inhabit tropical Indo-Pacific reefs, lagoons, and sandy coastal bottoms. They are active predatory snails, feeding chiefly on bivalves and other molluscs by rasping or drilling through shells. Their exceptionally ornate, branching shell spines provide protection and camouflage among coral and rubble.
