Firebrat
Thermobia domestica
Adult firebrats inhabit hot, dry shelters such as boiler rooms, bakeries, and spaces near furnaces. Mostly active at night, they race along walls and into narrow cracks to find starchy materials, book bindings, and dry debris. Their flattened, wingless body and three tail-like bristles help them slip through exceptionally tight hiding places.
