Little Ringed Plover
Charadrius dubius

Adults breed on sparsely vegetated shingle banks, gravel pits, and exposed muddy margins near freshwater. They patrol on foot in short bursts, taking insects, worms, and small crustaceans from the surface. The species is notable for its bright yellow eye-ring and for nesting in a simple scrape among pebbles.
