Blue-spotted Urchin
Astropyga radiata

Adults inhabit tropical Indo-Pacific reefs, lagoons, and nearby seagrass beds, often sheltering in crevices by day. They browse algae, detritus, and encrusting material from the substrate after dark. The vivid blue spots and exceptionally long, brittle spines are distinctive, and the spines can deliver a painful venomous prick when handled.
