Palometa
Trachinotus goodei

Adult palometa inhabit warm coastal and offshore waters, often cruising above sandy bottoms and around reefs. They feed on small fishes, shrimp, crabs, and other mobile invertebrates. The species is recognized by its strongly compressed, diamond-shaped body and long sickle-like fins, which support swift, agile swimming.
