Tawny-edged Skipper
Polites themistocles
Adults fly through sunny grassy openings, woodland borders, and fields with a fast, skipping flight. They drink nectar from flowering plants and frequently perch low among grasses. The tawny edging on the wings helps distinguish this skipper when it pauses with its wings partly open.
