Dead Leaf Mantis
Deroplatys lobata

The adult dead leaf mantis inhabits forest undergrowth and shrubs in Southeast Asia, where it rests among dry leaves. It is an ambush predator, seizing flies, moths, and other insects with lightning-fast raptorial forelegs. Its broad, leaf-shaped body is so convincing that it may sway gently like a leaf in the breeze to maintain its disguise.
