Orange-tipped Oakworm Moth
Anisota senatoria
Adult orange-tipped oakworm moths fly through oak woodland edges, gardens, and open decididuous forests during the warmer months. They are mainly active around dusk and at night, seeking mates rather than feeding. Like many giant silk moth relatives, the adults have reduced mouthparts and live on energy stored from their caterpillar stage.
