Pink-backed Pelican
Pelecanus rufescens

Adults inhabit freshwater lakes, marshes, river mouths, and sheltered coastal waters across much of Africa. They feed mainly on fish, captured by dipping the large bill and expandable throat pouch into the water. The pale body and pinkish back are most visible during the breeding season, when adults gather in tree or reedbed colonies.
