Frequently asked questions

How do I capture an animal?

Open the in-app camera and take a clear photo of the animal. Animalis identifies the real species and adds it to your encyclopedia. The closer and clearer the shot, the better the chance of a successful identification.

An animal wasn't recognised, or I couldn't capture it — what can I do?

Make sure the animal is clearly in frame, well lit, and fills a good portion of the photo. Animalis can identify pets, livestock, and zoo animals, but only genuinely wild animals can be captured and added to your team — so wild wildlife works best. Photos of people, or photos of pictures, may not be recognised. Try again with a clearer shot.

The map or nearby animals aren't showing.

Animalis needs location access to work. Check that location permission is enabled for Animalis in your device settings and that you have a data connection.

How do I heal my team or get items?

Visit a real-world place of worship (church, temple, or mosque) to heal your team for free at a Health Centre. Visit a real supermarket to find a Shop where you can stock up on Nets, Potions, and Revives.

Will I keep my progress if I reinstall or switch devices?

Animalis is a one-time purchase, so re-downloading it on the same App Store or Google Play account you bought it with is always free. Your game progress is stored on our servers, and reinstalling on the same phone picks it straight back up. To make sure it also survives a lost, broken, or new phone, link your Apple or Google account in Settings → Account — then signing in on any device restores everything: your animals, items, Leaves, badges, and held gyms. If you've lost access to an account, email us at support@playanimalis.com.

How do I delete my account and data?
