Snakelocks Anemone
Anemonia viridis

Snakelocks anemones live attached to rocks, crevices, and tide-pool surfaces along sunny coastal waters. Their long, waving tentacles capture zooplankton and small invertebrates with stinging cells before drawing prey to the mouth. Green-brown coloration often comes partly from symbiotic algae living in their tissues, which can provide extra nutrients from sunlight.
