Metallic Skink
Carinascincus metallicus

Metallic skinks inhabit cool, moist forests, heathlands, and rocky grasslands of Tasmania and nearby Bass Strait islands. They forage actively for insects, spiders, and other small invertebrates, often basking briefly before retreating to cover. Their smooth scales can show a subtle metallic sheen, and females of this species give birth to live young.
