Pacific Black Duck Duckling
Anas superciliosa (duckling)
Pacific Black Duck ducklings stay close to shallow wetlands, marsh edges, and sheltered ponds. They paddle after their mother while picking at tiny aquatic insects, seeds, and soft plant matter. Their downy plumage provides insulation, but they cannot yet sustain flight.
