European Rabbit
Oryctolagus cuniculus

Adult European rabbits live in open grasslands, scrub, dunes, woodland edges, and farmland, usually centered around shared underground warrens. They graze mostly on grasses and herbs, with bark, roots, crops, and woody plants taken when food is scarce. When threatened, an adult may freeze, thump a hind foot, bolt in a zigzag, bite, scratch, or kick with its powerful hind legs. A notable fact is that this species is native to the Iberian region and became one of the world’s most widespread introduced mammals.
