Atlantic Ghost Crab Juvenile
Ocypode quadrata (juvenile)

Juvenile Atlantic ghost crabs inhabit the upper beach and dune edge, where they begin digging small burrows above the reach of ordinary tides. They forage mostly at night on washed-up organic matter, tiny insects, and other small beach invertebrates. Their pale, sand-matching body color helps conceal them while they grow through repeated molts.
