Gang-gang Cockatoo
Callocephalon fimbriatum

Gang-gang Cockatoos inhabit cool temperate forests and woodlands in southeastern Australia, especially areas with mature hollow-bearing trees. They forage in the canopy and on the ground for seeds, berries, nuts, and insect larvae, using their strong bills to break hard food. Adults travel between feeding areas with undulating flights and communicate through distinctive creaking calls. Males are recognized by their bright red head and crest, while females have a grey head with fine barring.
