Brown-tail Moth
Euproctis chrysorrhoea

Adult brown-tail moths inhabit scrubland, hedgerows, woodland margins, and gardens, flying mainly at night during summer. They visit flowers for nectar and are attracted to lights after dark. Females are recognized by the conspicuous brown tuft at the end of the abdomen, which helps cover their egg masses.
