Pom-pom Anemone Juvenile Polyp
Liponema brevicorne (juvenile polyp)

After settling on the seafloor, the juvenile polyp attaches firmly to hard substrate in cold, deep water. It extends a small crown of tentacles to catch drifting plankton and organic particles. The young polyp can contract tightly when disturbed, protecting its delicate feeding structures.
