Asian Mud-dauber Wasp
Sceliphron curvatum
Adult Asian mud-dauber wasps live around sunny structures, cliffs, and muddy ground where they can gather nest material. Females hunt spiders, paralyzing them with a sting before carrying them to mud cells for their larvae. Adults also visit flowers for nectar, and their narrow thread-waist gives them a distinctive silhouette in flight.
