Dark Green Fritillary
Speyeria aglaja
The adult Dark Green Fritillary flies through flower-rich grasslands, heaths, woodland rides, and open mountain slopes. Adults drink nectar from a range of flowers, while females search for violets on which to lay eggs. Its rapid, gliding flight carries it over long distances, and the silver spots beneath its wings provide useful camouflage when it settles.
