Picture-Winged Fly
Rivellia syngenesiae
Adults frequent sunny woodland edges, hedgerows, and flower-rich vegetation. They feed on sugary liquids such as nectar and honeydew while moving quickly among leaves and blossoms. Their wings carry dark markings that give picture-winged flies their name and can be displayed while resting or courting.
