Blue Tit Nestling
Cyanistes caeruleus (nestling)

A Blue Tit Nestling stays deep inside a tree hole or nest box, depending entirely on its parents for warmth and food. It feeds on tiny caterpillars, spiders, and other soft-bodied invertebrates brought to the nest. At this stage it cannot fly and relies on begging calls, stillness, and the protection of the nest cavity to survive. Its bright adult colours are not yet developed, helping it remain less conspicuous in the dim nest.
