European Green Toad Toadlet
Bufotes viridis (toadlet)

The newly metamorphosed toadlet leaves the water and hides in damp margins, low vegetation, stones, and cracks near breeding pools. It feeds on tiny insects, mites, springtails, and other small invertebrates caught with quick lunges and a sticky tongue. At this size it relies on stillness, mottled patterning, and bitter skin secretions to avoid being eaten. Its small body makes it vulnerable to drying, so activity is strongest in humid weather or at night.
