Asian Black Bear Cub
Ursus thibetanus (cub)
Asian black bear cubs remain close to their mother in forested mountain habitats, often sheltering in dens during their first winter. They play, climb readily, and forage for fruit, insects, and tender vegetation while learning to recognize danger. Cubs are born remarkably small, usually weighing only a few hundred grams at birth.
