Little Brown Bat Pup
Myotis lucifugus (pup)

Little brown bat pups are born in warm nursery roosts, often in tree cavities, buildings, or sheltered crevices where mothers gather in summer. They cling to the roost while the mother leaves to hunt, feeding entirely on milk until they are old enough to practice fluttering. Pups use isolation calls and scent cues to reunite with their mothers in crowded roosts. A newborn is tiny and nearly hairless, but it grows rapidly and can begin flying within a few weeks.
