Wandering Glider
Pantala flavescens

The adult is a wide-ranging dragonfly found around warm wetlands, fields, coastlines, and open skies where flying insects are abundant. It hunts on the wing, catching mosquitoes, flies, and other small prey in mid-air with agile turns and long glides. It often perches only briefly, spending much of the day patrolling and feeding in open air. This species is famous for some of the longest insect migrations known, with generations crossing oceans and continents.
