European Badger Cub
Meles meles (cub)

European badger cubs are born in underground setts and spend their earliest weeks hidden in grass-lined chambers. As they grow, they begin exploring tunnel entrances and nearby woodland edges under the protection of adults. Their diet shifts from milk to soft foods such as earthworms, insect larvae, and small scraps brought or exposed near the sett. A notable feature of young cubs is that the familiar black-and-white facial stripes appear early, helping them resemble the adults long before they are fully independent.
