Great Capricorn Beetle
Cerambyx cerdo
Adult great capricorn beetles inhabit veteran oak woodland, especially trees with dead wood and sun-warmed trunks. They are mostly active at dusk and at night, feeding on tree sap and occasionally ripe fruit. Their exceptionally long antennae are used to explore their surroundings and locate mates.
