Fiji Banded Iguana
Brachylophus fasciatus
The adult Fiji banded iguana occupies forest canopy and dense shrubbery on several Fijian islands. It is mainly herbivorous, browsing leaves, flowers, fruit, and soft shoots. Usually still and well concealed, it can bite, hiss, and lash its tail when cornered. Males develop bold pale bands over a green body, whereas females are generally more uniformly green.
