Black-billed Magpie Fledgling
Pica hudsonia (fledgling)

A fledgling leaves the nest before it is fully skilled at flight, clambering through branches and making short, uneven flights near open country and sheltering trees. It still begs from adults but begins pecking at insects, scraps, seeds, and small animal remains on the ground. Its tail is shorter than an adult’s, and its flight is less controlled. This stage is curious and mobile but remains vulnerable to hawks, owls, and mammalian predators.
