Asian House Shrew Pup
Suncus murinus (pup)
Asian house shrew pups remain in a sheltered nest in and around human buildings, dense vegetation, or other protected crevices. They nurse from their mother and begin investigating nearby insects and other tiny prey as they grow. Born blind, nearly hairless, and pink, they develop rapidly during their short nest-bound early life.
