Gadwall
Mareca strepera
Gadwalls inhabit shallow marshes, lakes, and quiet ponds, often feeding in open water or along vegetated edges. They mainly dabble for aquatic plants, seeds, and invertebrates, tipping forward rather than diving deeply. This understated duck is especially known for feeding heavily on submerged vegetation.
