Golden Eagle Fledgling
Aquila chrysaetos (fledgling)

A newly flighted juvenile that stays near the nesting territory while practicing short flights, landings, and aerial control. It still relies heavily on adults for food but begins watching and testing hunting movements on nearby slopes and open ground. Its diet remains mostly mammals and birds delivered by the parents as it learns to handle prey. Young birds show conspicuous white patches in the wings and tail, making them easier to distinguish from mature adults.
