Sunda Colugo Infant
Galeopterus variegatus (infant)

A Malayan culugo infant spends its earliest life clinging to its mother’s belly, sheltered by the folded gliding membrane like a pouch. It nurses while the mother moves through lowland and hill forest canopies at night. Its grip is already strong, but it relies on stillness and concealment rather than escape. Newborn culugos are poorly developed compared with adults and must be carried for protection.
