Sunda Colugo Juvenile
Galeopterus variegatus (juvenile)
A juvenile Malayan culugo begins making short climbs and cautious glides among tree trunks in tropical forest. It feeds on tender leaves, buds, shoots, flowers, and soft fruit while learning night routes through the canopy. When threatened, it flattens against bark, where its mottled fur helps break up its outline. At this stage it is more mobile than an infant but still less confident and less far-ranging than an adult.
