Canis megamastoides Pup
Canis megamastoides (pup)
This pup shelters in dens and nearby scrubland or open woodland, remaining close to its mother while it grows. It plays by wrestling, chasing, and testing its developing jaws on bones and small prey. Milk is gradually supplemented with regurgitated meat and scraps from larger kills. Its oversized muzzle and teeth begin developing early, though it is not yet able to tackle large prey alone.
