Columba pisana
Columba pisana

This pigeon occupies rocky cliffs as well as towns, farms, and harbours where safe ledges provide nesting places. It walks and pecks at the ground for seeds, grains, buds, and occasional small invertebrates. Strong, rapid flight helps it travel between feeding areas and escape danger. It can navigate back to a familiar nesting site over considerable distances.
