Barn Swallow Fledgling
Hirundo rustica (fledgling)

A fledgling leaves the nest for nearby rafters, wires, branches, or fence lines while still depending on adults for food. It makes short, uneven flights and practices turning, landing, and taking insects from the air. Its diet is still mostly flying insects delivered by parents, though it begins learning to catch prey itself. A notable fact is that young birds have shorter outer tail feathers and duller colors than adults.
