Barn Owl Fledgling
Tyto alba (fledgling)

Barn owl fledglings leave the nest area before they are fully independent, clambering on beams, branches, and ledges while practicing short flights. They begin learning to track moving prey in open fields, grasslands, farm edges, and rough pasture. At this stage they still beg from adults but increasingly test their talons and wings on nearby perches. Their flight feathers develop quickly, yet their hunting success remains poor until silent flight and accurate pouncing improve.
