Eurasian Tree Sparrow
Passer montanus

A small farmland and woodland-edge sparrow, also common in parks, hedgerows, and village gardens across much of Eurasia. It forages on the ground and in low vegetation for seeds, grains, and small insects, especially feeding more insects during the breeding season. This species is active, alert, and quick in short flights between cover and feeding spots. A notable field mark is the rich chestnut cap and distinct black cheek spot, which separates it from many other small sparrows.
